Pipe Organ Recital Attracts Sparse Local Audience
A pipe organ concert at Dr M L College last Tuesday drew few locals as attendees from Courtland Nicollet Sleepy Eye and Springfield traveled from afar including a Gibbon resident who walked 18 miles to attend. Organist Mr Andrews impressed with Mendelssohn Handel and Bach while the college choruses under Prof Reuter offered Bach Brahms and Lachner pieces.

Springfield Council Rejects Bids for Village Lighting
At a Springfield village council meeting both bids to furnish electrical current were rejected. A. C. Ochs Brick and Tile offered 2800 volt three phase service with varied long term prices, while R. F. Wherland proposed 2200 volt three phase at different rates over six and ten year spans. A remonstrance signed by 54 residents opposed private control of lighting.
