District Court Jury Hands Down Two Verdicts in Brown County
In Brown County district court last week a jury awarded Citizens Bank of New Ulm $2,638.93 in favor of Mullen and partners against J L Cuddy and W F Cavanaugh with George Boock and Mrs Boock as sureties. The Themlitz case yielded a guilty verdict for carnal knowledge of a female under consent, with a sentence of fifteen years hard labor at Stillwater. State Timber Auction Brings Above Appraised Value
S.G. Iverson, state auditor, sold 98000 dollars worth of scorched timber at a sale in the state capitol building. Most timber is in St. Louis county with Johnson Wentworth Co Cloquet and Mallory McDonald Lumber Co Duluth as leading buyers. Cash receipts were 820009. Appraised value was 878000. Mrs Anton Hillesheim Dies After Pneumonia Relapse
Mrs Anton Hillesheim of Siegel died at home Wednesday morning after a relapse from pneumonia following a previous recovery. Born in Sigel in 1858, she married A Hillesheim in 1883. Survived by nine children Jos F Helger Ellis Kansas John Lanisteiner Milford Meinrad Hillesheim Stari Rose Bertha John Mary Anastasia Lucia Sigel. Funeral held Saturday at 1 o'clock mother’s society joined services.
