December term court closes with Farmers Packing Co. of Owatonna prevailing in its suit against John F. Stusburg for stock payment. Farmers Club Meetings With University Expert Schedule

This week the central and western county Farmers Clubs host R B E Olmstead of the University of Minnesota to discuss current challenges. Miss Ethel A Harris will meet with homemakers as a special feature. Schedule lists five club meetings from Monday December 16th to Friday December 20th with names Theria Eden Stately Jolly and Home Booster.

Silver Wedding Anniversary in New Ulm

Last Saturday December 6 marked the twenty fifth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs F W Johnson. Though they did not celebrate openly, friends visited to congratulate them and many hope they will live to celebrate a golden anniversary with a larger celebration and party in the future.

Hammond Highway Association Forms in Minnesota Towns

The Hammond Highway Association was organized at a Mankato meeting of the Hammond Highway path from Redwing to Worthington. Officers named include Pres. C. T. Crowley, St. James, Vice Pres. E. C. Erb, Redwing, 2nd Vice Pres. Lee M. Schell, Worthington, Sec. E. F. Searing, Mankato, with John H. Hohmann and A. E. Nissen among committee leadership. The group adopted by-laws and outlined highway markings with poles, bands, and a central white circle bearing the H. H. monogram to guide travelers from Redwing to Worthington and onward toward Sioux Falls and Sioux City.

Death by own action in county jail shocks town

John T. Puckett alias John Dorris, indicted for second degree assault at Springfield, died by suicide in the county jail after lunch. He allegedly warned, stated mental strain and fear of prison records, and had a prior asylum stay. Authorities and kin were notified as officials investigate his motive.

Dry Milk Project Fails Approval at New Ulm Club

At Monday's Commercial Club meeting J C Paulson representing Jersey Bry Milk and Creameries failed to secure approval for a proposed dry milk plant. Members declined to commit due to limited attendance and insufficient feasibility details though not opposing the plan.

Misfortune befalls Mueller family in a string of tragedies

Friends of the Henry Mueller family formerly in New Ulm report Mia Anne Mueller now in Chicago suffered a stroke four weeks ago leaving her paralyzed and speechless with impaired mind. Her daughter Lena Niemer died a week ago at 49 after a department store purchase event. Surviving relatives include Eugenia Morris and Anna McCloskey, and Alfred and Oscar Mueller with Alfred wounded in the Philippines and bedridden. The afflictions of the family are grievous.

Christmas church plans outline holiday services and programs

Christmas services and programs are announced for several churches. The Lutheran, Methodist, and Congregational churches schedule evening programs on Christmas Eve and morning services on Christmas Day. Evangelical Friedens church lists Christmas Eve and Day services in Essig, with a cord supper planned if possible, plus Sunday school programs on December 26 at 6:30 PM in Nicollet. All are invited.
