Mock Trial in Hanska Ends With Not Guilty Verdict

The Hanska Lib eral Union Society mock trial on December 2 at the library depicted John Deitz facing a murder charge in the Harp case. Judge George W. Chambard presided while Emil G. Hage led the defense with aides. the jury found Deitz not guilty after testimony and closing arguments. The event drew a large audience and included a light lunch served by society ladies.

Health Board Seeks 500000 For Legislation

Farmers Institute Two Day Session Draws Attendance

A two day Farmers Institute at the court house drew 150 to 200 daily with Forest Henry presiding. W Hale spoke on tile drainage and corn. A Brackett shared agricultural tips. Prizes awarded in coin contests ranged from 3 to 7 dollars with numerous 1 dollar and 50 cent awards across multiple entries and varieties.
