Old Settler’s Picnic Planned By Turoreven Society
At a meeting last Wednesday the Turoreven decided to hold the traditional Old Settlers picnic. A committee led by Capt Steinhauser and including Chas Hauenstein, Herman Heln, Herman Nagel, and Martino Mueller was appointed to arrange events. The date is set for September 17 and a full program will appear in the next issue.

Bold hold-up near city limits shocks town
Nic Metzen faced a wild hold-up last Wednesday evening when two tramps halted him on the road just outside the city. A gun was waved and a small amount of cash tobacco and a pocket knife were taken but the thieves returned the items noting Western chivalry.
