Veteran Pastor Honored in New Ulm Jubilee

Rev. C. J. Albrecht marked twenty five years as Lutheran pastor in New Ulm with a Sunday celebration. Gifts included a silver water pitcher and a leather rocker while guests from multiple towns attended. Albrecht had grown the congregation from 36 to 210 members, with nearly two thousand patrons. Prominent ministers from St Paul Sleepy Eye and others joined the event.

Mankato Wins Third In Pitchers Battle At New Ulm

Two thousand fans saw Mankato defeat St Peter three to two in a pitchers duel to claim the championship in New Ulm. McCleary allowed one hit with fourteen strikeouts, Bartos fanned twelve but yielded three base hits. St Peter’s lone scoring chance came in the eighth inning when Bartos singled and was advanced on a misplayed ball, but a bunt ended the threat.

Arlington Grays to Clash With St Peter in County Title Play

Next Saturday St Peter faces Arlington Grays at Henderson and Quane aims to lift the Sib ley county boys after a Sunday setback. The Grays shut out Gib bon 10 to 0 in ten innings. A championship game for Sibley County will be at Arlington on September 10. Edwin Hawley now controls Chicago & Alton via stake in railroad circles.
