Dedication of dormitory and music hall draws vast New Ulm crowd
On Sunday the new dormitory at Martin Luther College and the music hall were consecrated in New Ulm before about 6 000 attendees. Excursion trains and autos ferried worshippers to the campus as bands played church chorales and choirs performed. The ceremony featured sermons by Rev J Schaller and Rev A F Zich, a consecration led by Rev E A Pankow, and a grand liturgical close with Gloria in Excelsis Deo. Refreshments served for 3 000 prepared meals, and officials announced train and car counts for the return trip. Aug 20th memorialized by Lutherans across the area.

Death by Own Action Shocks Courtland Area
William Struebing a 40 year old carpenter boarded with Rudolph Holzerland in Courtland staged suicide with a shotgun. He placed the gun between his knees and used a chisel to trigger it, dying instantly in his room as his landlord heard a shot. Coroner Dr. Merritt ruled no inquest. He leaves three sisters and several brothers.
