Immense Throng At Dedication New Park Band Stand
A large crowd, estimated around three thousand, attended the dedication of a new band stand in German Park New Ulm. Miss Frances Krook sang and delivered an encore, followed by a dedicatory speech by F W Johnson emphasizing music's moral and social value. The band stand cost about $1600, built by John Gronau, with a 75,000 gallon reservoir also completed for the park water system at $5360.

Black and Yellow Trail inspection tour to New Ulm
A Blue Earth County Board of Commissioners party from Mankato, with leading local businessmen, will travel the Black and Yellow Trail next Wednesday August 26. They plan to meet New Ulm boosters, inspect the trail to Tracy, and discuss promoting the route to the world. The trip, postponed from the 19th due to rain, will return the same day.

Bank contract awards for new Farmers and Merchants State Bank
At the board meeting the plumbing contract went to M Hippert for 1492 dollars and the fixtures to Thomas Robertson Co of St Paul. Manganese steel will be used for the bank and vault, a modern burglar alarm installed, latest locks for safety deposit boxes, and a large basement storage vault with fireproof doors. Rev Gustav Albrecht of St Peter visited the Lutheran parsonage Monday.

Convention Tomorrow Draws Sunday School Leaders
The 12th annual Brown County Sunday School Association convention will be held tomorrow in Sleepy Eye at the German Evangelical Church. Attendees include local Sunday School members and ministers Rev. C. G. Hahn who will present How to Conduct an Adult Bible Class, and Rev. C. Mayer who will lead a Praise Service. Protestant Sunday Schools nationwide are expected to be represented.

Junior Pioneers Propose Monument Dedication and Picnic
The Junior Pioneers executive committee decided to dedicate last year’s monument to the 1862 Milford Indian Massacre with ceremonies likely on Sunday September 6. A committee will arrange the event and a settlers picnic. If not earlier, the group will meet October 6 to mark the first settlers arrival. A three member panel is to study moving Capt Jake Hindermann’s Otter boat hull to New Ikm.

Auto crank backfire harms Ole M. Olsen in six week layoff
While cranking his automobile day morning a backfire caused gunk to strike Ole M Olsen, fracturing him. He will be laid up for about six weeks as a result of the injury.

Death Toll Rises From Week's Auto Wrecks in County
A string of auto accidents last week left one dead and several injured. Peter Hengel crashed into Alfred Thiede’s car on Broadway and Second North, injuring Bjorn and Thiede while Thiede’s 12 year old brother hung from the windshield. Josh Felber died after a Sleepy Eye road crash near Stark, with Concussion for Joseph Felber and severe bruising for John Helget. Chick Williams and Arthur Krueger survived a Cadillac rollover near the Metzen bridge. Krueger pinned under the car, Williams lifting the vehicle to free him. $50 in damages.

New Ulm boosters approved a larger second booster tour starting at Dakota House at 7 a m. August 26 set by Commercial Club directors. Charles Vogtel to hire band. Old Pioneer Visitor Revisits New Ulm After 52 Years
Samuel McAuliffe of Rochester and Luther Ives, two of six survivors from a 1862 ambush near Loretto Hospital, arrive in New Ulm with Mrs. Mo. McAuliffe, aged 74, traveled on the Jeanette Roberts and plans to attend Ft. Ridgely dedicatory exercises for a Chippewa chief monument. He will stay several days at the Behnke home and hopes to meet fellow defenders. In Lake Hanska, an 11 year old boy injured his eyes when gunpowder exploded. doctors say sight unlikely to fail.

Novelty Electric Plant to Move to New Ulm
The Novelty Electric Manufacturing Company plans to relocate its plant to New Ulm with 50 residents contributing 100 each to finance the venture. The company will produce standard and automobile batteries, flash and search lights, and an electric insect exterminator. A factory site is yet to be chosen, with Dr Schoch possibly erecting a building opposite Mrs Dongus’ store.

JF Root from the state bank examiners department was in the city last week on official business. He audited the Brown County Agricultural Society and the Firemens Relief Association, finding their books in excellent condition. The relief association records were reviewed for a seven year period. Theo G. Baddens of Kellogs Minnesota visited his mother in law Mrs. Zde Sebwasten yesterday.
