New Ulm Tops Madelin In High-Scoring Game 16-6

New Ulm players Wicherski Klossner and Amann led a 16 run assault as Mueller and Pfeiffer struggled for Madelin. Amann had three singles and a triple, while Klossner added a homer. Madelin’s errors and wild pitches fueled the rally and left New Ulm with 13 hits and 12 stolen bases.

Dedication of New Dr. Martin Luther College Buildings

New Ulm hosts a two-building dedication of the Dr. Martin Luther College campus with a 10:00 A.M. morning service and an afternoon program. Prominent church officials, a chorus of several hundred voices, and a large turnout from Twin Cities and surrounding areas are expected, with special trains on both routes and guided tours of the new dormitory and music hall.

The farthest southwest city plans a major Exposition in 1915 to mark the Panama Canal completion, expecting material benefits. In the same year San Francisco will host a second Exposition, with San Diego already breaking ground on its exposition buildings in a ceremony attended by the President and represented by John Barrett.

Brown County Banker Arrested as Cobden Bank Closes

R M West, cashier of the State Bank of Cobden, is under arrest on larceny in the first degree following a nine thousand dollar plus shortage. Bank examiners Snyder and Bradvord found irregularities and temporarily closed the Cobden bank. The arrest occurred at Sleepy Eye after a week of meetings with stockholders and officials including Kelsey Chase, Supt. of Banks. West, once a Ford agent for Brown and Redwood counties, allegedly used bank funds to finance his automobile business, with his wife unaware of the scheme. The case is being prosecuted by County Attorney Erickson. bail details were being arranged as West remained in custody.
