Editors Enjoy Summer Meet Sees Busy Day of Tours and Talks
The Editorial Association gathered last Saturday in Turner Hall Park with over a thousand attendees. Weather held. visitors toured Eagle Mills, Loretto Hospital, Hunds ruecken, and breweries, then studied Monotype printing at the Review Plant before afternoon sessions led by Philip Liesch on Postal Regulations and other craft topics. A resolution praised Southern Minnesota’s growth and invited broader world interest while endorsing Senators Nelson and Clapp on stamped envelopes.

Republican Committee Men Selected At St Paul Meeting
At a recent meeting of Republican state and congressional candidates and party executives in St Paul, Dr Geo B Weiser was elected committeeman from Brown County and Henry N Samson was named one of the committee men at large. Brown County also sees Franklin Ellsworth appointing W B Mather and W A Pfefferle to lead his Brown County congressional campaign. Blue Earth County is noted as the only other county with two members on the congressional committee.

Winnipeg reporter paddles solo to New Orleans in 4 month canoe voyage
John A. Coultas of the Winnipeg Telegram arrives in New Ulm by canoe from Winnipeg on a wager to reach New Orleans by October 1. He began June 1, travels about 15 miles upstream and 40 downstream daily, portages a 17 mile stretch, and carries 75 pound canoe with 2 pounds of baggage. He camps nightly, plans months in the south before returning.

Hairbreadth Escape Sends Auto Down Steep Hill
Fred Radtke with Prof. Sperling and Teacher Blauert rode from College grounds toward Schell's Deer Park when a sharp Summit Avenue turn sent their car plunging into the Steinhauser truck farm. The machine stopped in a raspberry path after striking an ironwood tree. all aboard escaped with only a scare and slight damage. Radtke vowed not to repeat the stunt.

A large booster caravan led by Emil G. Hage traveled from Minnesota Street with 38 cars and 150 plus boosters and band members. The tour, organized by the New Ulm Commercial Club, promoted local business and Brown County Fair notes while stopping in Hanska Comfrey Springfield Sleepy Eye and Essig with concerts amid light penalties and humorous incidents.

Emil Metzinger transfers title of Beussmann Block to Hugo Schlender and the State Bank. Schlender pays 7000 dollars for his share while the bank takes 11000 dollars. City council weighs removal of stockyards and oil tanks
A petition signed by 53 residents of the east end calls for removing the Northwestern cattle yards and Standard Oil tanks over public health and fire concerns.
