The city council met last Tuesday to discuss licensure transfers, a 9 year lease for a Public Landing site south of the Eagle Mill for a foundry and machine shop, and plans for municipal concessions to De M. Guther College. Gas plant actions, sewer work behind Brown Co Bank, and a new bridge plank layer were noted. Auto speed and lighting enforcement were discussed with Mayor Graff promising action. Bids for cement crossings and sidewalks are due August 25. Building permits were issued for an automobile garage, residences, and barn work. Misfortune disrupts threshing crew and auction plans
Roy Reinhart injured his band in a threshing machine mishap last Saturday. A public auction is set for August 20 at Prank Schmelz's. Springfield visitor A Lemski and St Paul visitor Willie Schneider spent time with relatives in the area. John Reinhart bought a new threshing machine. Mr and Mrs Peter Springer were surprised by friends and neighbors. Julius Gunn and Earl Bignell of Marseilles on bicycles passed through New Ulm on a return trip from Hankinson North Carolina covering about 1000 miles in a month on the road two weeks back. They paused through DHnois Iowa and Minnesota, camping out nightly.
