Court grants injunction to railway against striking workers

Judge William F. Booth in Minneapolis granted a temporary injunction against striking shopmen at Waseca and Tracy but refused it for New Ulm Sleepy Eye and Mankato. He noted peaceful conduct by New Ulm strikers and questioned causing trouble. Hearing of five railroad injunctions was continued to today.

Car Crash Delays Train and Mail En Route Home

John A. Haffey and daughter Rose, with Miss Minnie Nigg and 8 C Holmgren, were injured in a highway collision returning from Pipestone to Lamberton after swerving to avoid a cow. Rose Haffey suffered facial cuts from broken glass as the car plunged into a five foot embankment due to sand on the road.

Picnic Ends Amid Heavy Rain At Sleepy Eye Park

A Knights of Columbus picnic at Sleepy Eye’s Sleepy Hye state park was cut short by an unexpected shower. About fifteen hundred people attended the afternoon event with speeches by Grand Master F. Kosek and others before rain halted activities and prompted departures.

Lambertson Boy Killed in Deep Lake Dive

Harry Bolstad, brother of Paul Bolstad, died after a headlong dive into three feet of water at Lake Okiboji. He struck bottom, became paralyzed, and died next morning from a brain blood clot after artificial respiration failed. An expert swimmer and former sailor, Bolstad recently emigrated from Norway.
