Prominent Man Fatally Injured In Wagon Accident
Christ Filzen Jr. died after a manure wagon jolted, throwing him between frightened horses. He suffered multiple injuries including a crushed skull and loss of an eye. Filzen, 72, born in Bad Bertrich Germany, long worked in New Ulm area mills and farmed. survived by a widow Mary Frances Kieves and several children. Funeral services to be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Inkert officiating.
