Hog Pen Home Case Shocks York County Court
Four Taylor children ages 14, 11, 6 and 9 were found neglected and dependent in a hog pen dwelling near Lewistown. Judge Ross ordered the youths placed with the York Society to Protect Children and Aged Persons until the father proves he can care for them. A Hanover girl connected with local youths was also remanded to the same custody.

A sudden squall at Diamond Lake near Newport Iowa on August 16 claimed Robert E Creager age 45 son of the late William Creager formerly of Sugartown He and his wife were vacationing with Miss Mary Helphrey of Sandpoint on a steel motor boat when the storm struck and capsized the boat Creager disappeared under 50 feet of water with his body recovered seven days later Interment was held in Newport He was born July 2 1871 in Millville Wisconsin and survived by his mother two sisters and four brothers Mrs Henry Otto is an aunt of the deceased.
