Annual Day of Recollection at McSherrystown academy
The Conewago Deanery of the National Council of Catholic Women held its sixth annual Day of Recollection at St Joseph's academy in McSherrystown with 198 women from 10 parishes, including Bonneauville and Gettysburg. Mass, meditations, rosary, and Benediction framed a day of prayer. Rev Louis A Wheeler led services. The program featured Holy Hour, prayers by the New Oxford choir, and a focus on purgatory doctrine and Holy Souls. A Harrisburg board meeting was announced for next Sunday and a souvenir prayer leaflet was given to each attendee.
