Klunk testified that settlements totaled about 35 to 40 dollars per case with Crabbs involved in taking cash. court ordered costs around 50 dollars with 21.23 for constable and a 1.50 rail fare item. Klunk to pay 12 weekly to wife and post a compliance bond returning in January for cost approval.

Arrest Record: David Arendt Sentenced for Stop Sign Violation
David Arendt of Gettysburg R. 3 was committed to the county jail Thursday evening for three days for defaulting on a $5 fine and costs for passing a stop sign. Menallen township justice of the peace imposed the sentence, with a state motor police from the Gettysburg substation making the arrest.

Hospital Service Plan Adopted at Warner Hospital
Warner hospital board approved contracting with Capital Hospital Service Inc of Harrisburg to offer non profit hospital care plans for residents. The plan covers 21 days full benefits and 60 days partial coverage per contract year including bed and board surgery anesthesia medications X ray and labs. Also admitted to the staff are Dr. William P. McKnight and Dr. James B. Gayne of Gettysburg after meeting three year residence requirements. Doctor McKnight began practice in Gettysburg October 28 1939 and Doctor Gayne on November 5 1939.
