Rose Murren Pa Master Farmer Dead at 90
Rose Jane Myers Murren 90 of 221 North Oxford Ave McSherrystown died unexpectedly at home. First and only woman named a Pennsylvania Master Farmer in 1941 she received the honor at the state Farm Show in Harrisburg. Surviving are 21 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren and several siblings. Funeral set Saturday with Requiem Mass at Annunciation Church.

Trailer Home Struck Twice Within A Year
Over a year, two crashes damaged Arthur Leon Smith and Maurice Neiman property near Abbottstown in 1962. Barry Shearer’s car first struck Neiman’s yard and the Smith trailer. A year later Nancy Lou Smith’s car veered off the Hanover Abbottstown road, struck trees and a pole, then hit the trailer and caused extensive damage while the occupants slept.
