Aged Hermit Found Dead in Buchanan Valley Cabin
Joseph Baker an 82 year old hermit was found dead on his cabin floor in Buchanan Valley by his nephew Edward Baker. The coroner ruled no inquest and a heart attack is the likely cause given his recent sleepiness and isolation three miles from St Ignatius. Surviving siblings include Mrs. Wilkinson and Mrs. Taylor of Adams County.

Waybright Black of Wenksville reported his Ford touring car stolen Saturday night while he shopped in Gettysburg. The license was 154149 Pennsylvania. Merchandise valued at $50 was inside. Constable Chas. H. Wilson recovered the car. thefts and missing goods expected to be found soon. The auto was abandoned near Gettysburg.

Runaway horse injures horse and sparing drivers in Abbottstown

M year old Walter Raublitz, son of James Raublitz of York, lies in York hospital with a mangled forearm after a hunting accident near Ort’s mill in Dover township. His gun exploded when it slipped and struck a rock as he turned away, wounding his arm while a stray shot hit cousin Harry Ruppert in the chin. Local Sportmen Lose Imported Coondog Near Pine Run
Clark Brown and Curtis Chronister, residents of the borough, imported a thorobred coon dog from the far west. During a late outing near Pine Run the dog barked and vanished, eluding searchers. No coon was felled, and the dog’s whereabouts remain unknown despite a diligent hunt.
