Abbotts Firemen Approve Weaver Home Purchase Plan
Abbotts town firemen met Tuesday evening to finalize the purchase of the Weaver property with a $3200 loan from the Firemen Relief Association Fund. Down payment and expenses were drawn from the general fund under attorney Oscar Spicer. The house committee priced repainting but delayed action until spring. A candy sale project led by Harif Mohi Sr. continues with calls for volunteers. Chief Wilmer Rodgers noted no October fire calls and highlighted an October fire drill trophy. Receipts totaled $60 with $523 in bills. A condolence resolution for Merle Sanders, who died October 5, was approved. A card party is planned for Saturday, organized by Doni Wildasin, W. C. Mummert, and Terry Alwine. Relief Association treasurer Robert Pagel reported $233 from Berwick Township and $231 from Hamilton Township in fire tax refunds. Twelve members attended.
