Ver dicts favor Walter M. Bupp in two civil actions

A jury directed verdicts favoring Walter M. Bupp of Waynesboro in two civil actions. Landis won against Bupp in his suit, while Bupp won his claim for 38 000. The actions stem from a June 22 1980 auto crash on the Fairfield road near Gettysburg.

Jury Returns Verdicts In Civil Cases At Gettysburg Court

A Gettysburg court on Monday awarded Charles D. Trostle of Mt. Joy township a verdict in an assumpsit case against Ralph A. Miller of Baltimore over a silo purchase. J. Hayes Beard won $85.05 in a trespass suit against O. P. House after a crash at the Carlisle and Bendersville roads. Two uncontested auto accident damages suits near Gettysburg also yielded plaintiff verdicts in Monday’s session.

Notice of Lost Certificates at Farmers and Merchants Bank

The Farmers and Merchants Bank of New Oxford Pennsylvania reports two mislaid certificates of deposit to Jacob Heist dated August 29 1924 certificate 27561 for 45 dollars and October 1 1924 certificate 27666 for 50 dollars. Duplicate certificates will be issued and any attempt to negotiate the missing certificates will be dealt with by law.

Automobile collision verdicts awarded in two cases

Juries deliberated about half an hour before awarding Joseph O. Althoff $14.34 against Edward Stephens for injuries and car damage from a September 11, 1932 crash at Muhonasburg road and North Confederate avenue. In a separate trial Henry Palmer won $59.14 against Alfred Jervis for a May 22, 1932 collision at Taneytown road and Hunt avenue. Jervis did not defend.

Butler Township Cuts Road Tax To Five Mills

Adams county taxpayers league urged action and Butler Township supervisors reduced the road tax on real estate from nine to five mills for the current year. Officials named include William E. Lower Samuel Allison Merritt Rouzer and Harry J. Van Dyke announced the move Thursday.
