The owner announces a public sale near Bonneauville on the Bonneauville New Oxford road 2 miles from Bonneauville. Items include 6 horses and mules, 11 head of cattle, 300 White Leghorn hens, wagons belts machinery farm tools and harnesses. Sale starts at noon with credit terms of ten months or 4 percent cash.
On Thursday March 20 1930 the undersigned will offer for sale a Black Mare thirteen years old seven head of cattle including five milch cows one heifer near fresh one bull 19 months old and various farming implements such as wagons plows harrows tools and harnesses. Sale begins at 1 pm with 10 months credit or four percent discount for cash. Paul Brown and auctioneers listed.
The undersigned who plans to quit farming will hold a public sale at his residence on the George W. Shelleman farm between Hampton and York Springs along the hard road. The listed stock includes 4 horses and mules bay horse 12 years old offside worker light sorrel mare coming 10 years old works wherever hitched a good driver safe for women and children sorrel horse works any place dark mule 10 years old good offside worker. The horses are fearless of road objects.
Irvin Miller 22 Hanover sentenced to not less than five nor more than a year in Adams county jail after pleading guilty to larceny of hides and furs valued at 500 dollars from a Pennville dealer. Brother Walter and Lester Kump received one year probation. Other defendants including Shriver and Gettsyburg residents faced probation, fines, or jail as sentences were handed down in Harrisburg area court. A Newark-based company sought removal of an Assumpsit action to federal court for 10,000 dollars while tax levies were approved in Franklin and Straban townships. A large farm sale listing livestock and equipment followed, with sale at noon and 12-month terms.
Bernard S Jenkins near Lillys Mill realized about 1925 at a farm stock and implements sale held Wednesday afternoon despite bad weather. Prices for mules, horses, cows, chickens and poultry were listed with a total sale of 1825.92. He plans to rent the farm. Friday closed trapping season and dog field training.
Edward R R Larrigan a former Gettysburg academy student in New York City pleaded guilty to forgery and passing worthless checks before Judge D P McPherson on Monday. The judge suspended the sentence and ordered restitution to Gettysburg merchants.
In the Hanover area court notes George Sheetz was ordered to pay 1.50 weekly support for an infant and post bond of 300 dollars. Edgar Overholtzer, charged with illegal liquor possession, was placed on 18 months parole after prior probation. John Cullison of Gettysburg, once in Philadelphia boys’ shelter, was ordered to Huntingdon reform school for bad influence.
New Oxford high school beat Glenville 27 to 23 in the boys game while the girls topped Glenville in a close contest 20? and 49 to 20. Miller scored 23 points and Wagner added 16 for New Oxford.
