Stolen Papers Recovered From Berlin Robbery Case
The bundles of stock and papers stolen from C. B. Brandt of tarsi Berlin were recovered by Charles Heehse in the jute ney hoves area near Adams Transit Co. The pocketbook and a bundle of notes were found tossed on the ground, likely discarded after realizing their lack of value. Only Liberty Bonds worth 1500 dollars and a Berlin bank stock share have been recovered so far. Brandt remains hopeful the remaining bonds may be returned, though the robbers may still attempt contact.

Scalding radiator accident halts Hanover driver
Hagerman of Hanover suffered severe scalds when boiling water sprayed from a radiator while he refilled it on the Lincoln Highway near Brush Run. He was guiding a D. M. Witmer stone truck toward Gettysburg when the cap was removed and the steam hit his face and shoulders. Passersby aided him to Mrs. Curtis Miller’s nearby home. Dr J Lo Sheetz of New Oxford treated him.

Quarrymen report a blast at Stewey and Wilson quarries sent a rock through a Valley View hotel wall, injuring none seriously and smashing furniture. A three month old baby narrowly escaped, as debris toppled a clock and damaged a crib. officials suspect a heavy dynamite charge in a crevice caused the incident.

Reading man breaks shin while driving horses
Carmen Myers of Reading township broke the shin bone of his left leg Tuesday while driving a buggy with several horses behind. He tripped trying to stop the frightened animals after they began to bolt. A three foot rattlesnake with nine rattles was killed Sunday at Caledonia in front of Miss Cox’s new cottage by H. T. Brown and Keith Berger. The cottage hosts John D. Keith’s family this month. the Erke was killed under Mr. Keith’s automobile as guests gathered on the porch. Miss Alverta Smith of Carlisle Street narrowly escaped a fall down a stairway at the Catholic Girl’s club in York Friday evening while she was retreating.
