Man in Pigeon Hills Is Sentenced for Chicken Theft
Raymond Scholl barricaded himself in a bedroom during a standoff with Hanover police for nearly two hours before a York county jail term of three months was imposed. Abdiel Grim, his accomplice, received a thirty day sentence for prior good conduct. Scholl allegedly stole 27 brown Leghorn chickens and an overcoat from Jacob D. Grim. a previous similar charge was settled a year earlier.

Injured by Kick of Mule at Keeney Shops
William Schriver took charge of his father's farm when a mule kicked him during shoeing at the North Peters street 8S Keeney shops. The blow fractured several ribs and tore a hoof nail, with a local surgeon rendering care. He will miss farm duties for some time.
