Adams County Schools May Get Federal Aid Under New Law
A number of Adams County school districts may qualify for federal reimbursement under a new Congress rule. Assistant County Superintendent Charles Raffeneperger said about ten districts could gain aid, including Franklin township Fairfield Liberty Hamiltonban York Springs and Cumberland. The aid targets districts with three percent or more students whose parents work on government projects or reside on government land. Plans call for a joint Adams and Franklin county meeting around March 15 to discuss legislation, while Navy duty-bound Dr George Stouffer Jr left for Japan.
