Friendship Fire Co Carnival Lights Up Hanover Week

The Friendship Fire Company hosts a week long carnival on the carnival grounds West Middle Street near Westminster Avenue Hanover from June 4 to 8. Chick Sales Buys Hanover Egg Farm in York County

Chick Sales Egg Farms of York has purchased the York County Farms egg business at 130 Baltimore Street Hanover and moved all operations there. Owner Samuel P. Berenson said the deal worth about 20000 dollars will retain the Chick Sales name and aims to double sales to about 2500 cases weekly. About 25 employees are expected, up from 16, with Berenson’s wife and daughter remaining at 729 South George Street in York.

Isaac Allen Sheely Succumbs Thursday at 74

Isaac Allen Sheely, 74, died May 30 at 7 a.m. at his daughter’s home in Bedington West Virginia after three years illness. Born in New Oxford he was a son of the late James and Margaret Peters Sheely. He retired in 1946 after 29 years with the B and O Railroad and belonged to First Methodist Church the Brotherhood of Trainmen and Railroad Veterans Association in Keyser. For years he played Santa Claus at the Lace Store in Martinsburg West Virginia.
