Mexico Loans 100 Million and Railway Finance Tangle
Finance Minister Requival Obregon signed a provisional contract for a 100 million dollar loan from Banque De Paris et Des Pays Bas with Speyer & Co. New York, to be issued as ten year amortizable six percent bonds. The National Railways of Mexico needs 10 million now, with 4 percent two year notes maturing. The railway’s finances are tied to federal government ownership, and European recognition of Huerta affects the deal. Speyer & Co. have longtime ties to Mexican rail financing.
