First Overseas Veteran To Be Buried At Gettysburg
The body of Private Ward MacNaulty of the 226th Aero Squadron will be shipped to Gettysburg National Cemetery for burial. A firing squad from the Albert Lentz post American Legion will fire three volleys, with Grand Army of the Republic members carrying out funeral rites. The interment inaugurates the cemetery’s third war heroes section as more World War I remains are sent from France beginning September 15.
