Monument Unveiled for Trooper Haley on Lincoln Highway
A memorial for Trooper Francis L. Haley, killed in the Abbottstown bank robbery, was unveiled along the Lincoln Highway between Chambersburg and Gettysburg. Funds were raised by Ross K. Gilbert and local banks. the granite shaft bears the inscription I m shot get that man. Haley was the 14th Pennsylvania State Police officer killed in the line of duty, with the assassin later electrocuted.

Man Act Violation Leads to New Arrest in Gettysburg
Clinton Shovaker, already convicted of a minor offense and fined, was re-arrested for violating the Mann Act stemming from the same case. Federal deputy marshal Jack Hart served the warrant with state police. Shovaker of Gettysburg posted bond for 2000 dollars to await a July 29 preliminary hearing before Commissioner Robert E. Wible. He is accused of taking a Gettysburg girl to Maryland for improper purposes. the girl is an incorrigible and sent to Slatington Farms for Girls.
