Fred McLean known as Sailor Kid Mack received 7 to 19 years in the penitentiary for second degree murder in the August 9 York party killing of Peggy Larue. Arthur Jordan, convicted of first degree murder for fatally shooting Wiley Fells, was sentenced to die in the electric chair.

Bechtel to Enter Guilty Plea in Gettysburg Case
Daniel Bechtel of near Littlestown, jailed in Gettysburg after arrest for illegally possessing intoxicating liquors, waived a hearing before Justice Hill. Hill says Bechtel plans to plead guilty when he appears before Adams county court later this month. Mariah Cromer of Abutts town injured in her father's garage when a sled hit a chopping machine, requiring three stitches. She returned to school next morning. Maynard D. Crouse of Hanover, manager in the Hanover Motor Company mechanical department, will study at Studebaker school in South Bend, Ind. The Colonel's Maid, a farce in three acts, will be repeated by the Aspers Fire Company at Fruit Growers' Hall, Bendersville, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. H J Tressler MechSherrystown began duties as salesman for Alvonus candy manufacturer of Waynesboro.
