Appeal Denied In Divorce Case at State Supreme Court
After more than three years in court, the Meligakes divorce case was closed by an order of the state Supreme Court denying an appeal from a Superior court decision last fall. Nicholas Melinakes, Gettysburg restaurant proprietor, sought a decree of divorce from Ruth Melinakes, formerly of Midway. Judge Watson R. Davidson presided. the lower court decree was refused. The case, opened in 1939, went to the Superior court where it was argued early last fall in Philadelphia. The master’s testimony filled scores of pages, making the record in the Meliunders action unusually voluminous in the county court.
