Twenty years ago Bowman and Petry opened a Lincolnway grocery at a rearsite in Hanover. Honor graduates Rollin Minter from Thompson Business College in York and transfers of property among local residents are noted along with several marriages including Grace Bosserman and Rev Murray Wag gok Baltimore. Death notices include EB Strausbaugh and Sally Harbold among others in Reading and nearby townships.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Francis Keefer of McSherrystown. E. L. Gokien's cigar factory in Bonneauville opened Wednesday. Elmer Myers of New Oxford has been ill at his son Emory's home. J Harvey Taughinbaugh and Donald Deardorff of Center Square are bedridden. Mrs. Amy Diller of Lincoln Way East is home with rheumatism. Nathan Smith and son Harry of Abbottstown and Russell Miller and Eugene Miller are mentioned.
The McSherrystown borough drive raised 508.69 for the Adams County Infantile Paralysis fund with donations from local schools and groups totaling 109.05. The report notes additional personal gifts and club contributions. Also listed is a baptism at the Church of the Annunciation.
Edward Krichten and Charles Stambaugh along with the Hockensmiths served as sponsors for the child. Gettysburg nullified a 13 point third period deficit to defeat Delone 52 47 at McSherrys Town, ending Delone Catholic's bid in the Central Penn Catholic league.
