A Sunday gathering at John L Myers home in Hamilton township includes Albert Myers and son along with several others. Alice Mackley leaves for Baltimore for three weeks of millinery work and to join Mrs M L Wagner of Carlisle Street upon return. Miss Catharyn Starner abandons nursing training in Baltimore and returns home. A dog named Pup alerts owner Joseph Klueman to a man freezing near York. Dempsey ally saved by dog in snow. Mrs Mary Jane Weaver of Hanover Street marks birthday while in Hanover with daughter Martha Mumma. Weaver survivor of the 1880 Johnstown flood, nicknamed Female Captain of Maple Avenue, with strong reminiscences of the disaster and family history.
Last Wednesday evening Mr and Mrs W B Rittase hosted a sleighing party at their Cedar Ridge home with games and a dining room spread of seasonable delicacies. Guests included Ira G Herman and wife H C Slaybaugh and wife Faye Herman Esther and Florence Myers Eather and Ruth Stock Nita Waitman Helen Slaybaugh Meeers Harry Stock John Myers Channull Sheely Roy Waltman Raymond Sebright and Harold Herman.
Oscar E. Stough, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stough of the William Butt farm three miles west of York, was killed February 19 after being caught in a corn chopping machine. His brother Michael witnessed the accident as the boy suffered severe injuries including crushed jaw, broken limbs, and lacerations. he never regained consciousness.

Rachael Washington aged 76 died in a Friday night fire in a small alley dwelling in York. Authorities have not determined if the blaze was accidental or self inflicted.

Miss Alta Couleon of East Berlin improves at home after hip treatment in Baltimore. Mrs Corneline Shue of Abbottown seeks rheumatism treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore.
A Sunday lecture at the Reformed church by Prof Shannan drew a large appreciative audience. He also spoke in Abbottstown to a similar crowd. Miss Emma Carbaugh has resigned as operator in the Hanover OC V Tel office and lives with her grandfather in Hanover. A runaway horse damaged a sleigh at a sale in Krafitown, forcing a replacement purchase. Gettsyburg shoe merchants Roth and associate Raymond have ceased operations. A Brethren Sister from Nokesville mailed York Railways Co a five cent fare claim.
Death notices report George D. Rosenatee of Round Top age 57 after a week long illness. Luther M. Buehler of Atlantic City age 70 and a half, cause acute arsenemia. Thomas W. Finnefrock of Menallen township age 30 died Tuesday morning. Mrs Lewis Long near Kohler's schoolhouse loses a mule after being kicked by another animal. Four of six prisoners in Adams county jail hear revivalist telephoned sermons via jail and almshouse connected to St James Lutheran church.
In Oklahoma City a jury quickly found United States Senator Gore not liable for damages in the Mrs Minnie E Bond attack suit filed over an alleged hotel assault in Washington last March. The single ballot favored the defendant after the plaintiff rested without presenting sufficient evidence.
Rev James T W Williams a former Congregational pastor of New Castle Pennsylvania was jailed in Toronto with Mrs George Thomas after a chase by her husband who followed from Pennsylvania alleging an elopement. Williams says he resigned. Mrs Thomas denies. Williams used alias Wilson while working as a real estate agent.
A $60,000 blaze at Potts Town Pennsylvania wiped out the Heir loom Silk Garment plant. Defective wiring started the fire and limited water supply froze, hindering firefighting. Silk valued at $10,000 and business records burned except for papers in the safe. Eight spinning machines on the first floor and all second floor machinery were lost.
A burning automobile hearse carried a woman’s body on Lower Broadway drawing about 2000 onlookers. Chauffeur Harry Duris, wearing a fur coat, was burned slightly before rescuers removed the garment. Police removed the body from the hearse as the vehicle burned from the motor.
A pumping station of the Manufacturers' Light and Meat Co. blew up on Thursday. Jung from Waynesburg, Pa., was killed and John Spicer, in charge, was hurled a distance and died two hours later. Three others were seriously injured.

The exchange includes a note from the U S State Department urging a thorough exhumation and witness interviews, while detailing casualties and suspects in a nearby shooting incident.
Secretary of State Bryan, after meeting in Washington with Sir Cecil Spring-Rice, demanded the body of William Benton from Mexican rebel General Villa. Benton was executed on Villa's orders.
American citizen Clemente Vergara was seized by Mexican Federals near Piedras Negras and carried into Mexico where he was hanged the morning after capture. Reports say he was lured to a river island near Palafox by offers of pay for stolen horses, then killed.
Abraham Pepper of Tacoma Washington shot Dorothy Johnson his former sweetheart and bride of a week at a San Francisco hotel door during her honeymoon, then shot himself. Pepper survived briefly under hospital care with poor prospects. Pepper had pursued Dorothy Danhauser for five years, but F L Johnson, a Tacoma music store manager, had won her affections and married her a week earlier.
A violent incident at 681 North Eleventh Street in Philadelphia leaves two women and a man dead in the morgue and two others hospitalized in critical condition at St Joseph's hospital. The alleged assailant, described as insane, is involved in the incident.
The country home of Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt Jr. at Jericho L. I. burned with furnishings and art valued around 20000. A caretaker and domestics were inside. overheat in a furnace blamed for the blaze. Hicksville and Westbury fire crews could not reach the scene due to snowbound roads. The sixty-room house, begun last year at about 100000, featured rare tapestries and oil paintings and had just opened two weeks prior. Mrs. Vanderbilt had hosted Christmas gatherings there and planned a sleighing party this week.
Richard Sherrod of Swartswood New Jersey is in critical condition after his pet horse bit him on the arm while he tried to bridle the animal. Doctors report erysipelas infection has set in.
Five of the six children of Joseph Smart a lumberman died when their house at Eagle Lake near Ashland Maine burned. The blaze destroyed the residence causing the fatalities with only one child surviving.
