Postoffice Lobby to be Open for Local Patrons
Postmaster Theo E Warner announces the new postoffice lobby will open evenings and holidays until 9 o'clock for box holders, with the general delivery window closing at 7 and holiday hours observed. Boxes will be rock boxes per Department order. lobby rules will be strictly enforced in Adams County. In Cashtown Miles Biesecker and Bright Cook plan a skunk farm starting with six animals to supply hides, with two dens dug and two more killed for the venture. Skunk hides sell for about 3.50, and a strong local demand supports the project. An Adams County Fish and Game Protective association formed with about twenty five sportsmen present. P A T Bower elected temporary president and C W Gardner named secretary. Charles E Blockinger of Red Lion reportedly killed a mild-mannered hen found with 12 cartridges of .22 caliber in her discard.

Mrs Edw Parr of Littlestown underwent a successful operation at Methodist Hospital Philadelphia and is improving nicely. Lester Sell of Littlestown faced bowel obstruction after an earlier appendicitis operation at West Side Sanatorium York. the recent operation went well. Luther M Slentz of Gettysburg, at Harrisburg Hospital, returned home much improved. Jacob Myers Jr of Hampton, previously operated on at Jefferson Hospital Philadelphia, was brought home very much improved. Mrs Harry Jacoby of Gettysburg was sent to German Hospital Philadelphia for treatment.

Hoffman, 60, of Abbottsown area, suffered a fractured nose and multiple abrasions after a fall in the rear of his home on Monday morning. Vertigo is suspected. he remained semi conscious and could not recall the incident until later. A.S. Brown, a local school teacher, found him on the front porch.
