Judge Sends Treiber To Jail For 60 Days
Ervin J. Treiber, 75, Hanover and former resident of New Oxford, jailed 60 days by Judge Rar P. Sherwood, York, after pleading guilty to stealing a March of Dimes donation box and two bicycles. The items were taken Jan 22 from the Mayflower restaurant counter and Bittinger’s Super Market rear, May 27. Treiber claimed poverty drove the theft and admitted selling the bicycles for a dollar each. $3.40 was recovered and returned to the March of Dimes Committee.

Man Suffers Skull Fracture In Truck Crash At Abbotts Town
John Jacob Stauffer, 32, of Harrisburg, suffered a possible skull fracture and facial lacerations when the truck he drove crashed at a concrete bridge on the East Berlin road near Abbotts town. The vehicle, owned by Pomeror's store in Barrisburg, sustained about $200 in damage. no other vehicles were involved. Stauffer was transported to Hanover General Hospital in good condition for treatment. The report notes he observed his 93rd birthday on Tawney, Gettysburg, on Sunday.
