A condensed local note reports Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Slaybaugh moved from New Oxford to York and are now in Palmyra with him working in a shoe factory. Other items include births in Reading township and Berlin Junction, medical treatment at York hospital, a Baltimore tumor operation, a death in Straban township, several relocations for work, multiple marriages and licenses, and widespread influenza illnesses among residents including the Para dise Protectory staff and families.
Illnesses report Fred A. Lohr and Miss Alta Rickrode with influenza. Several deaths noted: Mary E. Black 78 Straban township, Mary M. Little 11 months McSherrystown, and Mrs Bernard Noel 83 near Mt. Rock. A Bonneauville roads group forms with S Myers elected president and officers listed. Wheat price 69 cents. A large personal property sale near Cedar Ridge drew 1200 attendees totaling 4554 dollars. Candidate Harry C. Stock seeks Clerk of the Courts nomination. Mrs. Lewis Goodenberger of Abbottstown is seriously ill with fever. John Keagy of Hanover sold his Brush Run farm to A Murphy for 2500 dollars. Martin D Wentz sold his Round Hill area farm of 94 acres to J Stough for 2500 dollars with possession April 1. Regina Pohlman underwent appendicitis surgery at York hospital. Linus Smith suffered head wound from a falling crowbar while working. John Noel, 62, Abbottstown, died after boarding a Berlin Branch Railroad train. Lloyd Stock injured by a stick at play, with ligament tear. Clinton A Cashman of Round Hill had appendicitis surgery. A child of Mr and Mrs John M Bream of Pitt Street improved from pneumonia. George Emanuel, born to Mr and Mrs George Shelleman in Mountpleasant on February 17. Mrs George W Allewell, 59, near Bittinger Station, died February 19. An infant child of Mr and Mrs C F Smith of McSherrystown died on Sunday. Wheat price listed at 1.14 per bushel.

Pius Long and Henrietta Toomy are wed near here. Mrs. Philip Weaver, 74, dies in Straban township. Lucy Robinson plans to join the Sisters of Charity in McSherrystown. A Miller son is ill with appendicitis. Election results show local council and school directors with listed party tallies.

Francis Gerard Nicholson baptized at St Mary’s with Elgin and Laura Sanders as godparents. Mrs. Laura Brady improves. Ruths move to High street home. Hattie Klepper adds two rooms to Lincoln highway gas station. Altland house chimney fire causes roof blaze at hotel with extensive damage. Clayton Maul ill with scarlet fever. Dr Basil G E Curry aged 54 a colored retired veterinarian died Saturday morning at his daughter Mrs James Bridgett Jr 417 Codorus street York after a lingering illness. He formerly practiced veterinary surgery in Gettysburg. Surviving are his widow his father step mother and a sister.
The Sunday school session at the Lutheran church meets at 9 o clock. The Ladies aid society held a meeting at Emma Myers home with new officers elected. A festival and chicken supper are planned for Saturday in the Junior Hall. Local families and visitors are listed with recent gatherings and illnesses noted. Oscar D Mummert 49 of Hanover died at Hanover hospital after a bicycle truck crash while commuting to work. Coroner L U Zech said skull base fracture and multiple rib injuries caused death. Survived by son Clyde and brother Ervin. longtime Hanover Shoe factory shipping employee. member of St Pauls Lutheran church. An inquest is planned.
McSherrystown reports Rev. William M. Fink O S A son of John Fink of town becomes pastor of St. Clair's Montefalce Chicago this Saturday. He marks 25 years since ordination in July after 16 years in Detroit.

Miss Catherine Miller daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles E Miller of Hanover and Edgar Groft son of Mrs Regina Groft of Edge Grove were married Saturday at St Josephs Catholic church Hanover in a nuptial high mass. They will reside at Edge Grove. The bride works at J G McCrory in Hanover and the groom at the Hanover Shoe factory.
Miss Grace Overbaugh daughter of Mr and Mrs Paul Overbaugh McSherrystown and John Hawn son of Mr and Mrs A J Hawn Hanover were united in marriage at St Marys Catholic church McSherrystown in a nuptial mass at 7 o clock performed by Rev Patrick F McGee rector. Mrs Ralph Dewees sister of the bride and Paul Hawn brother of the groom were attendants. The couple will reside in a newly furnished home on Third street Hanover.
Miss Louise Hershey daughter of Mr and Mrs William Hershey Hanover married John Henry Noel son of Mr and Mrs Charles Noel McSherrystown in a rectory ceremony officiated by Rev Thomas Corcoran. Attendants were Miss Edith Henry and Richard Jin grow. The bride wore navy and gardenias. He works at Cannon Shoe McSherrystown and she at Jackson Shoe. They plan to live with the bride’s parents.
Miss Dorothy Brady daughter of Mr and Mrs James Brady Mc Sherrystown and Percy Kaltreider son of Mr and Mrs Edward T Kaltreider Hanover were united in marriage Saturday morning in the rectory of St Patrick's church York by Rev Carl B Brady. They are to reside on Baltimore Street Hanover with attendants Mr and Mrs Robert Brady.
Miss Hazel Virginia Pyles daughter of Mr and Mrs Alva C Pyles Aspers and Henry Eugene Riley son of Mr and Mrs Leo C Riley Gettysburg R3 were married Monday at 9 am in St Francis Xavier Catholic church Rev Father Raphael Gross officiated A nuptial mass followed. The bride wore a powder blue suit with navy accessories and white carnations while her sister in law wore a navy suit and pink corsages. The groom was escorted by his brother Bernard R Riley. The couple left for a motor trip into Virginia and will reside with the bridegroom's parents after returning.
Fire Chief James A. Aumen suffered burns to the two middle fingers of his right hand while helping extinguish a chimney fire at the Wilbur J. Stallsmith residence in Gettysburg. He shielded his face as steam and hot water sprayed from the chimney top now under control. Doctor C. G. Crist treated him. injuries not described as severe.
