Inventor Held After Slaying Wife in York City Apt
Edward Spritcer Hall, a destitute inventor, was held for the York county grand jury on a charge of murdering his wife Helen in their one room apartment on April 25. Constable Keech testified Hall admitted the shooting and said he acted from destitution to end his life. Hall remained silent to further questions.

Barn Raising Draws Hundred Fifty To Martin Walter Farm
About 150 men worked on a new 50 by 72 foot hip roof barn near Arendtsville on Martin Walter’s farm to replace a recently burned structure. Hayes Haldeman of Biglerville was the carpenter. One hundred ten workers ate dinner at the Walter home, aided by fifteen local women in meal prep and service.
