Adams County forms Girl Scout Council with first president
Mrs. Marjory Johnson of Gettysburg was elected first president as Adams County gathers 100 leaders from 19 troops to establish a county Girl Scout Council. Officers, directors, and a nominating committee were named, with plans to recruit leaders, secure program support, and petition for a charter from the national organization.

Council Adopts Constitution and Plans Districts for Scouts
The constitution was adopted Friday and special meetings may be called by the board or upon petition of 20 or more council members. Officers will be elected in June and take office in September to run the summer program. County divided into six districts with local committees and a second vice president coordinating districts. The seven committee chairmen will join the board. Board to meet 10 times yearly. nominating committee meets quarterly. Each troop pays $15 to fund activities. Miss Caldwell and regional officials named.
