Third period May 12 to 17 brings warm, stormy days with heavy rain and thunder, then much colder with frost northward after the 17th. Fourth period May 20 to 23 forecasts lighter but general storms with the 22nd and 23rd climax. Fifth period May 24 to 28, extended to the 29th, returns storm conditions then cooler weather as May ends.

Man Sentenced After Horse Theft Aimed at Mother's Care
Harvey Welsh convicted of stealing a horse to fund travel for his ill mother. Monroe Minnich, an Antrim township farmer, received a two year sentence at the Eastern Penitentiary in Chambersburg. Welsh sought to sell the horse to move his mother from Rock Spring to Waynesboro for treatment. The mother died Saturday morning a few hours after the sentence was imposed. She had been an invalid for many months.
