Deaths column notes a survivor list including nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday at 2 p m at J W Little and Son funeral home Littlestown with Rev Dr J M Myers of St Luke s Lutheran Church near Bonneauville officiating. Burial followed at Mt Carmel Cemetery Littlestown.
Funeral services for J. Preston Smith cashier of Farmers Bank McSherrystown and World War I veteran were held Friday at the Church of the Annunciation with Msgr Patrick F McGee as celebrant. Interment followed at St Marys cemetery. Survivors include sister Sister Marie de Sales Philadelphia and brother Gerald Smith Wilkinsburg. a misprint omits the brother's name and misstates the sister's address in last week’s notice.

Shildt of Union Township sells 38 acres to Eller in Lancaster County. Crouse of Hanover sells five acres in Reading Township to Laughman. Garland of Elizabethon Tenn sells 111 acres in Union Township to Bellamy. Carbaugh of Oxford Township sells to Bless of Oxford Township a lot in that township.
Mr and Mrs Clyde Brame of near Five Points plan to move to Arendtsville this week after his army discharge. Mrs Kate Decker of Five Points improves after pneumonia. Ezra E Bankert spent Sunday in New Cumberland. Charles E Decker sold land near Five Points to Mr and Mrs John Jacobs Route No 2 York Springs, who plan to build. Mrs Jennie Starry visits daughter Mrs Melvin Chronister. Chloe B Asper of Huntington two sold a house and one acre to Granville Grubbs of Biglerville, Bosserman homestead Huntington township near town.
The Adams County board of school directors will convene in the courthouse Monday evening November 26 for its re organization meeting and officer election. Plans for the county wide school directors convention at York Springs December 13 will be approved. Present officers include Chester B Worley York Springs president Luther E Jacobs Gettysburg R 3 first vice president Raymond M Baugher New Oxford second vice president Clarence J Waybright Gettysburg R 2 secretary and Zeal R Peters Aspers R 1 treasurer.

Miss Irene Butt, 76, of Gettysburg, is hospitalized at Warner with a fractured left leg after a yard fall. This marks a second recent accident, following a right leg fracture that kept her hospitalized in April.
Robert Staley formerly of Gettysburg was released from the county jail at noon Wednesday and placed on six months probation by the court. He must pay court costs and restore the watch he was charged with stealing.

Adams county Red Cross executive board met last Thursday to plan the annual meeting. A nominating committee includes Mrs. Albert Bachman, Mrs. R. D. Wickerham and Mrs. Quienn R. Bream. Mrs. R. Saby chairs the by laws committee. Mrs. Earl Bowen leads the program committee.
Pfc. Robert F. Burkee of McSher rystown is stationed at the redistribution station Fort Oglethorpe Georgia before reporting to a new assignment in the United States.
The Supervisors and Auditors Association of Adams County will hold its annual convention in the Court House at Gettysburg on Tuesday December 18th.
