Com. va Wm A Higham was found no true bill after Judge Swope disqualified over Gettysburg Water Co. ties. Civil trial list shows nine cases of which five settled. Notable rulings include verdicts not guilty for Paul M Starner and Clarence Yenser, harsh sentencing for Leo Carr, a six month jail term for Jacob Moore, and clemency actions for Clarence Heagey. John Seasely appointed Biglerville burgess. several continuances and forfeitures noted.

Marriage Licenses and Crimes Reported in Mount Joy Area
Marriage licenses filed by Clerk of Court include Hawn C Appler of Mt Joy township and Myrtle B Snyder of Mt Pleasant township, John W Grove of Gettysburg and Beulah E Sherman of Mt Joy township. Miss Mary Bierman, 22, missing since Wednesday night, recounted being struck on the head and left unconscious while crossing a bridge near Bethlehem, with no description of her attacker. In Watts township an Atlantic Refining driver and two of Albert Hammaker’s children were killed or injured when a wagon rolled after skidding on icy ground. one horse also died in the crash.

Man Known as Girl Slayer Hanged in Williamsport
John Erbel a former Syracuse steel mill boss was executed in Lycoming county prison Williamsport for murdering Grace Stidfole a twenty year old woman of the underworld. He said liquor made him irrtoneable before his death and that Monor led him to crime after she refused to quit her life. The girl lingered four months after the Nov 8 1912 shooting.

Suffrage Wins in Jersey Assembly Passes Woman Vote Resolution
The New Jersey House approved a constitutional amendment extending suffrage to women by a 49 to 4 vote. Opponents were J. J. Griffin and Leonard of Union, Nutting and Quigley of Essex. The measure moves to the Senate and would require re passage by the next legislature before a public vote.
