Throat Wounds Cause Man's Death
Joseph I. Stubbs 40 an agriculture instructor at Jersey Shore high school died Saturday night at Warner hospital after severe throat wounds. The injury followed a recent nervous breakdown and an earlier poisoning attempt. He left a wife Esther Prickett and three children. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at the Friends Meeting House in Flora Dale with interment there.

Marsby Charles Little of Adams County, resigning as supervising principal of Stoneboro public schools, took the oath Monday at 10 in judicial chambers. Ira Y. Baker, the newly named superintendent, watched as Little became assistant superintendent in the county with a salary of 2700 dollars, expiring next July 1, while Baker’s term ends then.

April Names County Superintendent From Mount Pleasant Native
April will appoint a county school superintendent for a four year term. The appointee is a Gettysburg native, son of Mr and Mrs Harry D Little of Gettysburg. He grew up in the county, graduated Gettysburg High School in 1924, then Gettysburg College in 1928. He earned a Master of Arts from Columbia University and has completed two summer courses at Pennsylvania State College while pursuing a doctorate. Professor and Mrs Little moved from Stoneboro Saturday and now reside along the Biglerville road about a mile north of Gettysburg.

Death of Clair W Guise Follows Auto Crash
Clair W Guise 25 of Gardners died 10:45 Friday morning in Polyclinic hospital Harrisburg after an auto accident Wednesday near Newport. He worked at H M Weigle fruit farm and was a 1930 Biglerville high school graduate. Survived by parents Mr and Mrs Allen W Guise and siblings Merle Jean Lester and Dale all at home. Funeral Sunday at 1 pm from home and Upper Bermudian Lutheran church with Rev P J Horick officiating. Interment Upper Bermudian cemetery.
