Four Injured In Sunday Auto Crashes In Hanover Area
Four people were injured in two Sunday morning crashes near Hanover. James H Thomas 21 of Abbottstown suffered facial cuts and bruises. David Bortner 21 of Hanover had a punctured lung after their car skidded on Spring Grove Road demolishing about 70 feet of fence at Hanover Canning Co farm. Grace M Stoner 63 and Mary A Stoner 63 of Grantham were taken to Warner Hospital after a collision on York Springs Hanover Road near York Springs. Grace Stoner had a knee laceration and Mary Stoner a minor head bruise. Damage listed at 300 to Stoner car and 250 to Leah vehicle.

Mr and Mrs J Frank Feiser of 201 Lincoln Way West New Oxford observed their golden wedding anniversary with an open house at First Lutheran Church New Oxford. Officers elected for 1964 include Donald Kline president Pauline Robinson vice president Ethel Pressel secretary and Dorothy Knott treasurer. Prizes were awarded, music by Weigle's Orchestra, plus carol singing and games. New dog licenses for 1964 are available from Adams County treasurer Daniel J Wolff. 1963 licenses issued totaled 6,126 and expire January 15.

New Oxford Seeks 60000 For New Plant Drive
New Oxford Industrial Development Corporation launches a campaign to raise 60000 debentures to fund a planned plant costing about 600000 with aid from the Pennsylvania Industrial Authority and local banks. Earl Klunk announced the drive and Paul Wagner will lead efforts as negotiations with an industry continue for the project.

Adams County received a semianual state tax refund of 92971.13 for liquid fuel tax in 1963, with prior year totals 92792.78. The period from June 1 to December 1 yielded 52486.45 compared with 53089.88 a year earlier, while the first half of this year produced 41384.68 versus 39702.90.

Man Who Fled From Sheriff In May Jailed
Robert Ray Wallen 24 of New Oxford Row pleads innocent to escaping from an officer obstructing an officer in the execution of a legal process and conspiracy to escape. Wallen fled from Sheriff Miller and Deputy Sanders after being found hiding May 9 at his father’s home. He was arrested in York County on a robbery charge that was dropped, then brought back for the local charges and remanded to jail. A Maryland detainer cites an assault in Carroll County and a potential felony punishable by death.
