Forger of 110 Dollar Check Caught in Harriedburg Escape
Harry Small of Midway forged a 110 check at Peoples Bank Hanover in name of his sister Jane. He was captured later the same day in Har r ieburg while en route to Pottaville to marry Violet Long. The funds were recovered and returned to the bank. Small awaits trial at York jail after transfer from Harrisburg jail. Small and Violet Long previously served time in Gettysburg jail.

Hospital Patients and Transfers From Local Areas
Harry Weller of Midway was sent to the State sanitorium at Mont Alto on Friday morning. David Martin of McSherrystown, an influenza patient, was moved to York hospital on Thursday. Mrs Adaline Stoner of Wairfield was taken to York hospital on Thursday for a surgical operation. Mr and Mrs Carvin Leese of Hanover left Monday for Philadelphia where Mrs Leese will undergo an operation at the Homeopathic Hospital for Women.

Horse Breaks Leg Near Sharrer's Mill Road
A horse drawing a family wagon on the road near Sharrer's mill broke a front leg after stumbling on Tuesday afternoon. The animal was condemned to end its suffering. Also noted, sixteen of Ada County's 221 public school teachers were ill with influenza, yet most attended the sixty fourth annual institute sessions held last week. County Superintendent H. M. Roth has been bedridden at his Gettysburg home for two weeks with indigestion, leaving the institute without his presence.

County Commissioner E Keefer of York Springs bought the Emanuel Smith farm, 175 acres in Huntington township, from Carlisle owner John Hays at private terms. Maurice Bittinger near Hanover acquired the former Strubbinger property, taking possession. The Lillich estate sold at public sale with all property, a residence east of Abbotstown on the Lincoln Highway bought by Jeremiah Nace for 193000. Blue Gaubleg and the brick factory owned by S L Johns and Middleburg Manufacturing, Blain Johns and Herbert Hershey were among Saturday sales.
