The Bendersville community fire company reports a net profit of 723.41 from its annual fair and bazaar. Receipts reached 1,148.63 with expenditures of 425.22. Inclement weather moved the event from August 8 9 and 10 to August 13 and 14. Proceeds will fund the new pumper and ladder truck with about 1,200 debt to be paid next year. Couple Held on Serious Charge in Adams County
Mrs. Catherine Eck enrode of Gettysburg and Henry Dickert were arrested Tuesday on statutory charges. They were committed to the Adams County jail in default of bail following a warrant issued by Justice John C. Shearer on sworn statement by Paul Eckenrode. The alleged offense occurred early last Saturday morning.
