Adams county commissioners ordered a thorough physical examination of every prisoner admitted to the county jail. Parties include Democrat and Republican with many incumbents and cross-filed candidates.
A sedan left the Lincoln highway six miles west of New Oxford at 3 45 Tuesday morning and rolled over through a fence. Four people were injured one seriously John Heggan 61 of Hagerstown sustained a broken neck and partial paralysis with other three receiving minor wounds. Heggan admitted to Warner hospital where X rays showed the broken vertebra but officials said recovery is possible. The car was heading toward Gettysburg at moderate speed when it veered off the south side of the highway. An additional accident occurred Monday afternoon about 75 feet from the scene injuring three more persons.

Mrs Noah P. Selby, 73, mother of Mrs Calvin I Bentzel near New Oxford and Miss Nellie Selby of Hanover, and sister of Mrs George Bender of Gettysburg, died Wednesday at her Taneytown area home.
Miss Annie Alice Eicholtz of Gettysburg died at her home Friday morning after months of illness. Born in New Chester she was 83 and survived by three sisters, with nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Bender Funeral Home Gettysburg with interment in New Oxford cemetery. Rev. A. P. Frantz officiated.
Pallbearers at the funeral of Dr Wilson F Hollinger, held Wednesday in Abbottstown, included Clinton Swope, George Haar, Norman Haar, William Baker, S S Wolf and Henry Waltman. Clayton F Guise 61 a farmer and laborer died at his home Biglerville R1 at 1 40 Tuesday morning after a year long illness of complications. Born in Adams county he was a son of the late Abram and Annie Guise and lived in the county. Survived by his widow Lizzie M Guise one son Luther C Guise Ligonier one daughter Marie Guise at home four grandchildren six brothers and two sisters. He was a member of Benders Lutheran church.
Miss Alice Krichten recovers at home after illness. A son born to Mr and Mrs Harold Bnyder Midway. Mrs Clement Sneeringer improves at home after illness. Mrs Mary Cassett returns from visit to Philadelphia and New Jersey. Mrs Isabel Kuhn shows improvement after serious illness. Letters of administration issued to Mrs Annie Conrad for the estate of Joseph Conrad McSherrystown.
Miss Dorothy Weaver of Eas High Street, long on the sick list, is now able to be about again and resume her daily activities.

The Rinehart reunion was held in August at Williams Grove. Attendees included Mr and Mrs William Rinehart, plus numerous relatives from Chambersburg Harrisburg New Oxford Morrisburg and other nearby towns.
A wedding dinner was hosted at Mrs. Catharine Lawrence’s home in Irishtown on Sunday honoring newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kilunk. Guests included Charles Rinehart Jr and Miss Rita Gebhart with many Lawrence and Rinehart family members and friends.

A surprise party at the home of Mr and Mrs G E M Baker honored Mrs Baker on her 69th birthday. Mrs Ralph Dahlheimer and two children escaped with minor injuries after a car overturned near Farmers while en route to see the farmer’s sister Mrs Roger Wildasin.
The will of Dr. W. F. Hollinger, late of Abbottstown, was entered for probate Monday in the recorder’s office by Miss E Grace Hollinger and George W. Baker, both of Abbottstown.
About 200 depositors met at Farmers' Grove on Friday to establish a depositors committee to work with bankers to reopen the East Berlin National Bank at the earliest date. Professor Collin Shelly of Lancaster led the meeting with input from Walter Keeny and conservators from local banks. H W Watson was elected chairman with C Clark Brown secretary and S S Miller treasurer and executive committee members.
