Receiver appointed for Sure Foot Heel and Rubber Co in Gettysburg
Judge McPherson granted a petition for a temporary receiver for the Sure Foot Heel and Rubber Company, naming Roy P. Funkhouser. A permanent receiver will be named September 8. The filing says the firm could operate at a small profit and might be sold as a going concern at greater advantage than a sheriff sale. The company carries a $7,500 first mortgage on its brown stone building and notes totaling $14,700. Working capital shortage is cited for the failure. The 1921 organization had $150,000 authorized, about $120,000 issued, with nearly 600 stockholders across Southern Pennsylvania and Maryland.
