Firemen Attend Quarterly Meet in Gettysburg
About 300 members of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Firemen’s Association gathered in Gettysburg for the quarterly meeting at the Eagles’ home. Speakers included Judge W. C. Sheely on arson challenges, with Capt. T. N. Boate urging safe driving near fire routes and continued education on fire prevention.

Noted Littlestown official Charles H. Mayers Dies
Charles H. Mayers of Littlestown a veteran justice of the peace civic leader and lodge member died Sunday at 5 30 PM in Annie M Warner Hospital Gettysburg after a hip fracture from a fall at home April 2 He served 38 years as justice of the peace was secretary of Littlestown borough council and of the Protection Mutual fire insurance Co He was a lifelong member and former chorister of Littlestown Lutheran Church and affiliated with the IOOF and Patriotic Order Sons of America He was a son of the late Elias and Margaret Baschoar Mayers.

Test Flights For Air Mail Demonstrations Across Gettysburg Route
Experimental tests of a round trip between Gettysburg and Camden N D were announced by inventor Dr Lytle S Adams. Further demonstrations are planned in 10 days to two weeks after installation at Chambersburg and Waynesboro. No mail will be carried until definite plans are announced. Local officials praised the plan linking Gettysburg to Pittsburgh and Camden via transcontinental air lines.

County Bounties Totals Vary In March Across Counties
Harrisburg April 12 news notes York county farmers and sportsmen received 278 in March bounties from the state game commission for killing noxious animals. Adams county paid 143 for 71 weasels and 18 foxes. Franklin Cumberland counties reported 195 and 146 respectively for weasels foxes and goshawks.

York man dies after being pinned between freight cars
Jen H Caldwell 63 of York died at York hospital two hours after injuries from being pinned between freight cars of the Western Maryland railroad near the Quarters at Thomasville. Survived by wife Emma J Caldwell two sisters Mrs Charles Baublitz and Mrs Charles Shirley both of Hanover and brother Maurice H Caldwell Harrisburg. Visitors from York and Hanover to Mr and Mrs Paul Chronister Sunday.

Littlestown Institution Declares Dividend On Depositors
The Littlestown Savings Institution trustees announced a 20 percent dividend on Depositors' Participation Certificates, payable at Littlestown State Bank. About 2,200 people will receive the payment, the second distribution since receivership began. Depositors have now recovered 88 percent of funds as of September 21, 1931. Trustees are W. D. Sheely, J. Wesley Berwager, and John V. Urich. secretary is J. Ward Kerrigan of Emmitsburg.

Finger Amputation At Reaser Factory Injures Worker
Elmer Addlesperger suffered a severe thumb laceration while working at the Reaser furniture factory on Friday afternoon. He was transported to Annie M. Warner hospital where doctors amputated part of the finger tip.
