Students Build Road At The State College
Three hundred fifty students and instructors at New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts demonstrated that reduced state funding need not halt progress. At eight a.m. they labored on a half mile road from campus to Carino Real, aided by trucks and gravel from state and county highway commissions. Six hundred cubic yards of gravel were spread, with students in squads under a corporal, directed by Mr Crowder and Dean Goodard. College women and faculty wives served dinner to workers.
