Sheriff Placido Jaramillo of Valencia County was shot in the abdomen by Pantaleon Lobato during an attempted arrest at Los Lentes. Jaramillo disarmed Lobato and deputies arrested Lobato and house owner Otero. Jaramillo underwent surgery at St Josephs hospital in Albuquerque. prognosis serious.
