The Tucumcari Public Schools will open on Tuesday September 2 with a corps of teachers from top educational institutions. Builders have worked on school buildings for the past two weeks and readiness is set for opening day as reported by local papers.
Sandoval District Judge M E Hickey and court officials opened the regular term at Bernalillo as county funds are exhausted and there are no funds to pay jurors or court expenses. Only pending civil cases will be heard. a vote of 82 to 5 approved proceedings. A separate item notes Blanco voters approving a $6,000 bond issue by 70 to 0. In Farmington a man shot his wife and himself at the Southern Hotel in Durango on Tuesday night August 12, after his release from a hospital. C P Cronin, husband of Mrs Ivie, traveled to Durango upon learning of the tragedy. Aztec and Bloomfield residents plan to build a bridge across the San Juan river at Bloomfield using available county funds and subscriptions.
